Challenge / Goal
We have already implemented 20 charging points in Stuttgart and want to expand this network to 55 charging points by the beginning of next year.
Our goal is to free the operators of sharing services (scooters, mopeds, etc.) from having to keep additional vehicles in the city ready to change the batteries of the scooters in the field. With our charging points, we instead enable customer-based charging of the sharing scooters. This enables our customers, currently Stadtwerke Stuttgart, to achieve significant cost savings. The budget thus freed up on the part of the operators can now be used to expand the offering and increase the number of vehicles. As a result, sharing users benefit from significantly lower fares and a larger number of available scooters.
This opens up the possibility of addressing new customer groups, who may leave their cars at home more often as a result. Commuters in particular show great potential if they can be dissuaded from using their own vehicles by attractive alternatives. At the same time, the cities also benefit from this new mobility offer and an orderly parking situation for the scooters.
Overall, we firmly believe that scooter sharing can make a significant contribution to the traffic turnaround, especially if it is firmly integrated into urban life through a well-developed infrastructure. To this end, we are looking for location partners such as stores, property owners or companies with whom we can further expand our network.
Solution
For the realization of the project, we have developed a universal charging solution (XOO), which should not only charge the scooters of the Stadtwerke Stuttgart, but gradually also be able to charge pedal scooters, cargo bikes or e-bikes. For the implementation, we continue to look for new location partners where we can set up installations.
