With the initiative Vaihingen Ökologisch Sozial (Vaihingen Ecological Social), citizens of Stuttgart-Vaihingen want to promote environmentally conscious living in the district as well as positive coexistence. In order to achieve this, Vaihingen ÖS advocates, for example, an expansion of rail and bicycle traffic and would also like to have a say in construction projects in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. Vaihingen ÖS also organizes cycling demonstrations.
