Traveling throughout Europe by night train - there is hardly a more sustainable and comfortable way to travel. And as of this month (12/2023), there are even more great offers for your start from Stuttgart.

The background to this is an expanded night train alliance between Deutsche Bahn (DB) and its European partner railroads. In Germany, 40 cities are now connected to the European night train network (see report in the "Frankfurter Rundschau").

Particularly attractive from our point of view: the Nightjet of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), with which you can travel from Stuttgart to Venice. You board in the evening at Stuttgart Central Station and arrive in the lagoon city the next morning well-rested. According to our research, you can book this journey for as little as 39.90 euros. ÖBB recently presented the new Nightjet carriage models here. Perhaps they will soon be in service from Stuttgart too.

Another great night train offer from Stuttgart is via Vienna to Budapest. You can also take the Croatian Railways (HZ) night train via Ljubljana to Zagreb.

And how does the booking work? The normal way is via the Deutsche Bahn website: https://www.bahn.de/
