Communities, municipalities, districts and other local authorities receive a financial grant from the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food if they educate consumers about organic agriculture and regional value chains. Appropriate measures can include events or online or offline campaigns. In this context, consumers should be informed about the legal regulations at national and EU level, the relevance of partnerships within a regional value chain (e.g. securing jobs) and the upcoming developments in organic agriculture.
The funding subsidy amounts to up to 90% of the eligible costs with a de minimis limit of 30,000 euros and can be paid out over a maximum of three years.
In the case of appropriate partnerships, research institutions, universities, associations, interest groups and foundations are also eligible for funding, provided they can demonstrate expertise in the field.
