Electromobility is the future of the automobile - which is why the city of Stuttgart wants to support the expansion of charging options. The "Private Charging" support program complements the "Stuttgart Solar Offensive" support program. Both programs support building owners as well as tenants and leaseholders who want to set up a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

If it is possible to supply these charging points with a PV system, the "Stuttgart Solar Offensive" funding program applies; if this is not the case, support can be applied for through the "Private Charging" funding program. This primarily supports associations of owners or even if the parking spaces concerned, which are to be electrified, do not yet have an existing grid connection. In the case of detached rows of garages where no connection to the power grid is possible, the city of Stuttgart even allows the use of adjacent public areas to set up a new house connection for the charging infrastructure.

A prerequisite for the funding is that at least two landing points can be supplied by the charging infrastructure, of which at least one charging point is still installed during the funding period of a maximum of 2 years.

In addition, the city also covers the cost of the pre-check if it does not cost more than 110. During this pre-check, an electrical installation company determines which technical requirements are necessary for the installation of a charging infrastructure and how high the potential for the charging infrastructure is.
