Plastic litter and pollution are dramatically endangering our waters. Marine animals are dying, plastic is entering our food chain, and entire ecosystems are struggling to survive. Since plastic cannot be degraded, we are shaping the future of the planet with our current consumption, economic and lifestyle patterns.

To meet this challenge, the program "Marine Debris Framework - Regional hubs around the globe" of ZUG gGmbH supports NGOs, companies, research institutes and universities based in Germany that tackle the problem at its roots and work to reduce waste and litter production. This prevents plastic from entering rivers and oceans in the first place. Applicants must have in-depth, demonstrable knowledge of product manufacturing, supply chain, recycling and waste management. In order to achieve the highest possible impact, the solutions should have a long-term orientation and be transferable and transferable. The program focuses on regions with polluted waters and island states.
