A sustainable, diverse and socially just diet? This requires a change in the food system. The Food Council StadtRegion Stuttgart e. V. is committed to sustainable cultivation in the region and regional marketing. The work of the Food Council will result in a food strategy for Stuttgart and the region. The aim is to actively promote the regional and ecological transformation of the food system. Civil society, players in the food system, science, administration and politics define common goals and solutions to overcome structural hurdles. Education, information and exchange also play an important role. Various formats are used to enable participation by a wide range of stakeholders. Online participation is currently underway as part of the vision phase:

A "city-regional" food strategy for Stuttgart; where are we heading, what does it take?

  • We are now developing visions in three subject areas and collecting ideas that will get us there. We will take all of this into the development of the strategy and into the planned committee meetings.
  • At the kick-off event on 25.10.2023, we developed a vision for the year 2035 in individual fields of action and considered possible intermediate steps (see documentation). We want to do the same for the rest of our fields of action and working group topics, only this time online!
  • The pinboards are openuntil April 14. So take a look right away, so you can think about it and make an entry whenever you think of something. It also works on your smartphone.
  • We are looking forward to inspiring, targeted and creative contributions!

Climate protection food hub & logistics areas

  • HuMUS Open: a new dialog format will be launched in April in line with the topic of spaces: HuMUS Open, let's talk about land. The topics will include the multifunctionality of open spaces; biodiversity in arable land & vineyards; settlement planning & landscape development and many more (see attachment).
