Our current way of living and farming shapes nature. The standardization of landscapes for better agricultural usability, has also affected the native biodiversity. Good interaction between working landscapes and nature reserves is essential for sustainable nature and species development. For this reason, the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (German Federal Foundation for the Environment) supports measures that contribute to a holistic, regional nature conservation concept and protect biotopes.
The use of innovative technologies that optimize the use of landscapes in terms of nature conservation or lead to sustainable wilderness development is also supported. As is the case with the foundation's other funding programs, this funding program also provides funds for communication and knowledge exchange concepts that either train professionals or raise awareness of biodiversity among children and young people.
