Germany wants to become greenhouse gas neutral by 2050. The expansion of renewable energies, as well as a more efficient use of energy and a holistic energy concept, e.g. through sector coupling, are elementary components of the strategy. Citizens must be involved in the process, and biodiversity and the environment must be protected.
The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (German Federal Foundation for the Environment) would particularly like to support small and medium-sized enterprises that are driving forward the energy transition.
Funding is provided for a range of measures that focus both on research into new applications for renewable energies (e.g. in the area of mobility) and the development of associated technologies (e.g. in the area of sector coupling). The funding is available for research into new applications for renewable energies (e.g. in the area of mobility and the development of associated technologies (e.g. in the area of sector coupling, Power to X, Demand Side Management), as well as for educational concepts in training and further education (especially with regard to young people) and environmental and nature conservation solutions.
