High-tech start-ups usually have high investment costs in the initial phase. The state of Baden-Württemberg would like to provide support here and offers financial support with the innovation voucher for high-tech start-ups. The prerequisite is that the entrepreneurial project has a high level of innovative strength and that the market in which the start-up is entering is growing and sustainable. The innovation voucher can amount to up to 20,000 euros, with a maximum of 50% of the eligible costs being subsidized.

The innovation voucher can only be applied for if the company has been formally founded by the time the application is approved, is no older than five years and is located in Baden-Württemberg.
It is also required that the company does not employ more than 100 people and that its turnover does not exceed 20 million euros. The innovation voucher can be applied for a total of two times.
In particular, start-ups operating in the field of health, climate and environmental protection or in the field of IT and communication technologies, green IT and AI are to be supported by the innovation voucher.
