From school cafeterias and youth centers to daycare centers and pubs, various institutions in the district work together to offer an open lunch for everyone. While enjoying delicious and climate-friendly food, you will get suggestions and information for your climate-friendly nutrition at home...

This is the project "Wandering, climate-friendly lunch" of the initiative "Sustainable in Hallschlag" - and 1st prize winner of our #jetztklimachen award!

We talked toLisa from "Nachhaltig im Hallschlag" inthe aftermath of the award ceremony. Here's our little interview:

What was your first reaction when you found out about the award?

Lisa: My heart was up to my neck with excitement and surprise. I walked on stage in car mode and was pretty overwhelmed. When I spread the info around the project group, there was great joy all around about the recognition.

How would you briefly introduce the "Walking, Climate-Friendly Lunch Table" to people who don't know you yet?

Lisa: At the lunch table, social institutions in the district open their doors and cook a lunch together with volunteers, to which all people are welcome. The lunch table dates are themed, such as avoiding food waste, eating delicious, cheap & healthy, vegan meat alternatives, etc. Recipes are selected and the menu cooked to match the theme of the day, and the food comes from suppliers in the region. In addition, consumer education takes place on site. So there are recipes, information and tips for everyday life to take away.

How can the people of Stuttgart support your project?

Lisa: We are happy to have volunteers who are involved in the selection of recipes, the calculation of ingredients, and the cooking and serving of the lunch. Otherwise, everyone is invited to simply drop by for lunch. And last but not least, we have applied for the Stuttgart Citizen Award. So if you think our project is worth supporting, you can vote for us.

Where can interested parties come by in the near future to get to know the "Wandering, Climate-Friendly Lunch Table" in action?

Lisa: The next dates are October 24th at the Pub Nachbar (Am Römerkastell 73), November 7th at the Rupert-Mayer-Gemeindehaus and December 5th at Kafem of the German Turkish Forum.

Thank you for your answers, Lisa!
