Summer is here - and there's sunshine galore! That means - at least on holiday evenings and weekends - open-air swimming, chilling out on the balcony and other wonderful leisure activities; but what if being in the city starts to become unpleasant? Heat in excess pushes the body to its limits, and vulnerable populations like children, seniors and pregnant women feel it even more quickly. So when the thermometer climbs too high, it's time to stay cool! In many cities, help is being offered from the municipal side. Stuttgart is currently working on a heat action plan; in Karlsruhe, for example, there is a "city plan for hot days" www.karlsruhe.de/stadtplan-fuer-heisse-tage.
We think this is great and want to ask you: What are your favorite cool places in Stuttgart? Write us!

PS: It goes without saying that avoiding too much coolness (especially in buildings that are cooled with a lot of energy) is only a momentary step and that climate impact adaptation means stopping or slowing down the development of more and more extreme weather periods.
