One of our biggest misconceptions is that we pay attention to local foods. Yet it would be so much more important to pay attention to what we eat:

83% of the CO2 emissions from our personal diets are caused by dairy, meat and eggs, eighty-three percent! Food transport is responsible for only 6% of the emissions. More about this in a very compact way here: https://ourworldindata.org/food-choice-vs-eating-local

If you want to improve the climate impact of your diet, pay attention to how you can reduce dairy and especially beef. For the past two years, I've been cutting out not only beef, but also yogurt and milk - and it's working just fine.

Sure, at first oat, spelt, almond or soy drinks are unfamiliar, but quickly each of us finds the variety that suits our own taste well. I like the alternatives, especially the spelt drink, much better than milk. Why don't you try it out and report on your experiences?
